Your budget is typically a top concern when you need to make a major business purchase like a copier. While it's important to be conscientious about how much you spend, be careful not to skimp on quality. An inexpensive but unreliable copier can ultimately cost you more in the long run.
BuyerZone's network of copier suppliers have a lot of experience dealing with customers that want to buy quality copiers without overextending their budgets. Several of our suppliers provided these great examples of what to look for when shopping for the best copier deals.
Research online bargains
Make sure to use the resources the Internet offers before making a purchase, suggests Tony Loiacano, President of Eastern Copy Fax in Essex Massachusetts.
"In 2007, the Internet is a great way to shop for a copier," says Loiacano. "It enables you to find a deal in your area that will handle all of your business' needs. You can research the copiers you're interested in, get detailed information on every product, and receive multiple price quotes from different dealers. It's a great all-around tool to help you save money and offers an advantage that wasn't as prominent 10 years ago."

Save money with used copiers
A refurbished copier can offer many of the same advantages of a new copier for a fraction of the price. Just make sure you work with a supplier that stands behind their product.
"To find a great deal on copiers, you should definitely consider the benefits that pre-owned copiers can offer," explains Jim Antolik, Regional Sales Manager of LBS International in Plantation, Florida.
"You can get a machine that's only a few years old and almost 80% below retail price. Look for a dealer that's up front about where the copier has been and what it was used for. The right dealer will offer strong customer support with your purchase and allow you to choose from multiple service contracts to fit your needs."
Always meet suppliers in person
A copier may look like a great deal on paper, but get to know the supplier who sells it before you buy so you don't get stuck with a lemon. "If you locate a good deal on a copier, contact multiple suppliers," suggests Martin Jackson, Vice President of Copynet Office Systems in Plano, Texas.
"From there, pick the top three suppliers. Take the time to meet with them individually, find what makes each unique, and see what each has to offer. It's more effective to base your decision on one-on-one meetings than to randomly call different suppliers by phone."
